Make an impact supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in a vibrant school environment on a contract basis. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to foster communication skills and help students thrive academically and socially.
What you’ll bring:
- Completed SLPA certification and state licensure (required)
- Experience working in educational settings, preferably with diverse student populations
- Strong understanding of speech and language development in children and adolescents
- Ability to follow treatment plans developed by licensed Speech-Language Pathologists
- Excellent interpersonal communication and a collaborative approach within multidisciplinary teams
- Compassion, patience, and adaptability to meet each student’s individual needs
Key responsibilities:
- Implement therapy sessions following individualized education plans (IEPs) crafted by supervising SLPs
- Deliver direct and indirect speech/language interventions under supervision, individually and in group settings
- Assist with documentation—tracking student progress, session notes, and updates to plans as needed
- Engage collaboratively with teachers, staff, and families to support student goals
- Prepare therapy materials, maintain equipment, and contribute to a positive and productive learning atmosphere
- Help support screenings and assessments as assigned
