Position Overview
SLPAs in California schools work under the supervision of licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) to deliver direct services and support students with speech, language, and communication disorders. You’ll contribute to implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and help students develop critical communication skills for academic and social success.
Open roles are available in Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Diego, Fresno, San Jose, and other regions statewide.
Key Responsibilities

Provide direct speech-language services to students as outlined by supervising SLP

Assist with documentation and data collection for progress monitoring

Support preparation of therapy materials and activities

Work with students individually or in small groups

Collaborate with teachers and school staff to reinforce communication goals

Follow California Department of Education and ASHA guidelines for SLPA scope of practice
Qualifications

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences

Active California SLPA license or certification required
-
Experience in school or pediatric settings preferred

Strong communication and organization skills

Must meet California background check and fingerprinting requirements
