Speech Therapist Assistant in Baltimore, MD
Step into an impactful role supporting student communication needs at two welcoming elementary campuses in the Baltimore area. This contract opportunity is ideal for a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) seeking hands-on experience in a dynamic school setting. You’ll provide direct support to PreK–5th grade students, collaborating closely with supervising Speech Language Pathologists to deliver therapy, implement individualized education plans (IEPs), and contribute to student growth across multiple sites.
In this assignment, you’ll split your week between two schools: three days at Magnolia Elementary and two days at Prospect Mill Elementary. A consistent 37.5-hour workweek offers both stability and variety, with the contract running from mid-February through the end of May, and the option to extend into the summer session.
What you’ll need:
- Active Maryland Professional Licensure as an SLPA
- School-based experience preferred
- Ability to travel between assigned campuses
- Completion of district credentialing: House Bill 486 background check, fingerprinting, and employment history review
- Professional communication and a team-centered mindset
- Availability to interview on or after 4/27/2026
- Readiness to provide license documentation at onboarding
Your responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language therapy services under SLP supervision
- Implement IEPs and support student progress
- Maintain session notes and progress records
- Engage with teachers and families to optimize support
- Participate in school-based teams and departmental meetings
