Pediatric School Speech and Language Pathologist | Newburgh, New York
A full-time opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) serving school-aged students in a K-12 school setting in Poughkeepsie, New York, for the 2025–2026 academic year. This role offers 35 hours per week during the full semester, providing a contract position within a collaborative school-based environment focused on supporting student communication and academic progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders in students
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on IEP goals and relevant educational standards
- Deliver direct speech and language therapy to support communication, social development, and academic success
- Collaborate closely with teachers, staff, and families to foster consistent student growth across environments
- Participate in Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings, providing professional insights and recommendations
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation to ensure compliance and reflect student progress
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current New York State SLP license or eligibility to obtain licensure
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; Speech-Language Pathology Clinical Fellows (CFY) encouraged to apply
- Experience in school-based or pediatric settings highly desirable
- Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
