A K-12 school in Winston-Salem, NC, is seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students with special communicative needs. This contract position runs from ASAP through January 31, 2026, offering 25-30 hours per week, Monday through Friday. The caseload ranges from 40-45 students across various grade levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and assist students with speech and language deficits related to articulation, language, voice, and fluency, helping them reach their maximum communicative potential.
  • Collaborate closely with educational staff, families, and related professionals to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Conduct screenings, assessments, and diagnostic evaluations, making informed recommendations for speech-language services.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and manage Medicaid billing for eligible students using ECATS and district-designated billing systems.
  • Organize and coordinate the school speech-language program in compliance with ethical and regulatory standards.
  • Provide therapy services utilizing appropriate diagnostic tools and strategies to align with curriculum goals.
  • Serve as a liaison by consulting with other professionals and recommending additional services or referrals as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • North Carolina Speech-Language Pathologist (G) License from the Department of Public Instruction (required).
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA preferred.
  • Experience with ECATS and Infinite Campus software systems.
  • Prior experience working with Exceptional Children’s services is essential.
  • Ability to work onsite exclusively with no remote option.
  • No Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) support available at this time.
