School-Based SLP | Rensselaer, New York
A K-12 Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available for the 2025–2026 school year in Rensselaer, NY, primarily serving elementary students with some high school caseload. This contract role runs from September through June and offers an engaging opportunity to provide impactful speech and language services in an educational setting.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments for a caseload of approximately 28 students.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans to address diverse student needs.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, school staff, and families to ensure effective accommodations and supports.
- Monitor student progress, adjusting interventions as necessary to maximize outcomes.
- Participate actively in IEP meetings, contributing expertise toward goal setting and student success.
- Provide guidance and resources to parents and caregivers supporting the student’s progress.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Valid state SLP license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- Experience working with school-aged children is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within an educational team.
- Familiarity with IEP processes and education law.
