School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
This contractual maternity leave position offers two distinct opportunities to provide specialized speech-language pathology services in the Pittsburgh, PA area. The role focuses on supporting students in a high school setting, working with diverse age groups and needs within the school community.
Opportunity #1 involves delivering speech-language support to 7th through 12th-grade students within a single program. This role requires availability approximately from January 5 to April 15, working two days per week from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM, providing related services tailored to student needs.
Opportunity #2 includes providing instruction in the home for a 4th-grade female student diagnosed with Dravet Syndrome. This involves two 30-minute sessions per week, preferably on Thursday and Friday afternoons between 3:30 PM and 4:15 PM. The location is in Carnegie, with the option for virtual service delivery if in-person visits are not feasible.
Key qualifications and experience:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) certification and licensing appropriate for school settings
- Experience working with students from 7th through 12th grade, as well as elementary students requiring specialized support
- Ability to deliver services both in educational environments and in-home settings
- Flexibility to accommodate schedule requirements and the possibility of virtual service delivery
- Knowledge of protocols related to special health care needs, such as Dravet Syndrome, is preferred
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting speech-language assessments and developing individualized treatment plans
- Implementing evidence-based therapy to support student communication goals
- Collaborating with educational staff, families, and related service providers to support student progress
- Documenting services and maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and standards
