A K-12 school in Henrietta, NY is seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a Contract position through the current school year, ending June 25, 2026. Full-time candidates are preferred, though part-time applicants will be considered.
This role involves providing a range of direct and consultative speech and language services to students with diverse communication needs. Responsibilities include:
- Screening students for speech, language, fluency, voice, articulation, or related communication issues
- Administering and interpreting formal and informal assessments to establish present levels of performance
- Participating actively as a member of the Committee on Special Education (CSE) or Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE)
- Determining eligibility for special education services under New York State regulations
- Developing, reviewing, and revising Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or Individualized Plans for preschool students, setting goals and specifying service delivery methods
- Delivering direct therapy in individual and small group settings, utilizing pull-out, push-in, or classroom consultation models as appropriate
- Adapting materials and incorporating augmentative/alternative communication (AAC) strategies when needed
- Collaborating with teachers, families, and related service providers to support students’ communication needs and generalize skills across academic and social contexts
- Maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring compliance with IDEA and New York State Education Laws, including timely evaluations and reporting
- Adhering to credentialing requirements such as holding the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) and/or TSSLD certification if applicable
- Pursuing ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices and regulatory standards
Candidates must bring a thorough understanding of speech-language pathology service delivery in a school setting and be committed to promoting students’ access to the general education curriculum in the least restrictive environment.
