A K-12 school in Thomasville, NC, is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide essential speech and language services to students with special communication needs. This contract role runs from ASAP through January 31, 2026, offering 25-30 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with a caseload of approximately 40-45 students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist students in improving articulation, language, voice, and fluency, maximizing their communicative potential.
- Coordinate services and collaborate with educational staff, families, and other professionals.
- Manage Medicaid billing documentation for eligible students using designated district systems.
- Plan, organize, and oversee speech therapy programs in alignment with school goals.
- Conduct screenings, diagnostic testing, and analyze results to inform individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Develop and implement IEPs in partnership with teachers, parents, and relevant stakeholders.
- Manage therapy sessions, utilizing appropriate diagnostic tools and techniques that support curriculum goals.
- Serve as a liaison by providing consultation, referrals, and recommendations for service implementation.
- Maintain professional growth and adhere to ethical standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
- NC licensure including a G License from the Department of Public Instruction.
- ECATS experience is mandatory.
- Preferred certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA.
- Familiarity with ECATS and Infinite Campus software systems.
- Ability to work onsite full-time; no remote or hybrid options.
- No Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) available for support.
