Speech Pathology - Fairport, NY
Serving students from kindergarten through grade 12 in a public school setting, this role provides speech-language pathology services focused on supporting students with communication needs. Position is full-time preferred but part-time candidates will be considered. The contract assignment extends through June 25, 2026, and is located in the Fairport, NY area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct screenings and formal/informal assessments to identify speech, language, fluency, voice, articulation, and related communication challenges.
- Interpret assessment data, review case histories, and observe students within their educational environments.
- Actively participate in Committees on Special Education (CSE) or Preschool Special Education (CPSE), supporting eligibility decisions and development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Provide direct speech and language therapy (individual/small group) and consultation services, delivering interventions in least restrictive environments including push-in, pull-out, or classroom consultation formats.
- Adapt therapy materials to meet student-specific needs, including the use of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) tools.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, special educators, families, and related service providers to support communication goals and classroom accommodations.
- Maintain detailed and compliant documentation related to evaluations, therapy sessions, progress reports, and IEP revisions.
- Ensure full adherence to IDEA, New York State Education Law, and school district policies related to speech-language services.
- Stay informed of credentialing requirements and fulfill continuing professional development obligations as mandated by New York state.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC).
- New York State licensure and TSSLD certification or eligibility.
- Experience delivering speech/language services in K-12 school settings.
- Strong knowledge of special education law and service delivery models.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
