Speech Therapist in Burbank, IL
An opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) certified in schools (SLP-CCC and SLP-School Certification) to support a K-12 special education co-op in Burbank, IL. This contract position will cover an FMLA leave for the remainder of the school year, providing valuable therapeutic services within a dedicated school setting.
This role blends hands-on therapy with diagnostic evaluation responsibilities. The caseload primarily involves conducting diagnostic assessments and managing a small Early Childhood (EC) group of 9-10 students in afternoon sessions twice weekly. In addition to therapy, time is allocated for detailed report writing, and three full days are dedicated to diagnostic evaluations and participation in team meetings. This structured schedule ensures a balanced workload, supporting thorough student assessments and comprehensive service delivery.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering diagnostic speech and language assessments for K-12 students
- Providing direct therapy services to a small EC caseload twice per week in the afternoon
- Writing detailed diagnostic reports and maintaining thorough documentation
- Participating in meetings with educational teams to discuss student progress and intervention strategies
- Working within a therapeutic center environment with no virtual service options
Preferred qualifications:
- Valid SLP certification with school eligibility (SLP-CCC and School Certification)
- Experience performing diagnostic evaluations and delivering speech therapy in school settings
- Comfort working with early childhood education students and small caseloads
- Strong organizational and communication skills to manage reports and collaborative meetings
