Bilingual School Speech and Language Pathologist | Brooklyn, New York

A K-12 educational institution in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to provide services primarily to students aged 6 and older. This is a contract position for the 2025-2026 school year, offering 25 hours per week across three days. The ideal candidate will possess bilingual Spanish-English skills, though monolingual applicants will be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language therapy sessions tailored to individual student needs, ages 6 to 16
- Conduct two sessions per week consisting of one regular and one make-up session as needed to address any missed or backlogged services
- Schedule sessions carefully to ensure students are not pulled from physical education classes; avoid push-in sessions during PE
- Allocate approximately 30 minutes daily for lunch (unpaid) and 45 minutes for preparation and documentation, which can be taken in segments or as one block
- Monitor and adjust services as new students are admitted and draft Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) are finalized
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist (CCC preferred)
- Experience working with school-age children, preferably in a K-12 setting
- Bilingual Spanish-English fluency strongly preferred; monolingual clinicians with relevant skills will be considered
- Ability to work collaboratively with educational staff and adapt to evolving student caseloads
