Pediatric School Speech Therapist | Biddeford, Maine
A part-time Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is available in a K-12 school setting near Waterboro, ME. This contract assignment is onsite and focuses primarily on elementary-level students, making it an excellent fit for an SLP with strong experience in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) who enjoys working in a supportive school environment. The role begins ASAP and continues through the end of the current school year, with potential travel between 1–2 campuses for which mileage reimbursement is provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech-language assessments, evaluations, and provide direct therapy services to elementary students
- Participate actively in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and collaborate with school personnel and families
- Manage progress reporting and documentation utilizing the district’s special education documentation system (training provided)
- Support students effectively using AAC devices, leveraging specialized experience
Qualifications:
- Active Maine Speech Language Pathologist license required
- Proven experience with AAC devices is essential
- Prior school-based SLP experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with students, families, and educational staff
