Job Title: Mental Health Specialist
Location: Flint, MI
Position Type: Full-time, Onsite
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 35 hours/week
Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and student-centered Mental Health Specialist to support the social-emotional and behavioral needs of general education students. This role offers the opportunity to provide direct support, lead proactive mental health initiatives, and partner with educators to promote a positive school climate.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling to support students’ social-emotional well-being
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement positive behavior and mental health programs
- Deliver professional learning and consultation to support building-wide initiatives
- Maintain documentation and follow ethical and professional practice standards
Qualifications (One of the following is required):
- Licensed Master’s Level Psychologist (or Limited License under supervision)
- MDE-credentialed School Psychologist
- Licensed Master’s Level Social Worker or School Social Worker (or Limited License under supervision)
- Licensed Bachelor’s Level Social Worker (must enroll in LLMSW/LMSW program within 24 months)
- Licensed Master’s Level Marriage & Family Therapist
- Licensed Master’s Level Professional Counselor (or Limited License under supervision)
- School Counselor License (SCL)
- Michigan Teaching Certificate with NT endorsement
- Preliminary or Temporary School Counselor Credential (must pursue LLPC/LPC within 24 months)
