Our great schools in Portland Maine are looking for a speech language pathologist (SLP) to cover a need from September-January. This job will cover 2 different elementary schools. A few mild to moderate kidos will be on the caseload.
To be considered for this position you must have the following:
ASHA CCC
State issued license from Maine
Schools experience is preferred
Masters Degree in speech pathology

Unlike private practice speech therapists or pathologists, school speech therapists work with students, parents, and teachers as a team. Most students that work with a school speech therapist do so because they have an impairment that inhibits their ability to communicate or understand what is being taught to them. Individuals who apply for school speech jobs can be called upon to diagnose problems through testing and observing students, come up with a treatment plan for students as well as provide counseling to students and parents.
